Per Jamie Cameron, "The [LDAP Users and Group] module was really designed mainly for managing Unix users in an LDAP database, for use by nss_ldap. But it should work with Samba's LDAP schema too." Well it doesn't work so what should be done to fix it, or what functionality needs to be there.

  • The ability to add more nss_base_ options to the module would allow other "user" accounts such as computer_trust_accounts to be managed. This would require a configuration change in module setup to allow for one or more configuration options.
  • The ability to modify attributes that are available to BE modified. (Module config setup that search the schema files and turns on any MUSTs needed and shows available MAYs that can be turned on as well.(turn on in the module_config means that when using the module, the parameter will show up))
